So if you’re part of the majority of people who were ecstatic towards this upcoming interview, and wanting to know a more defined story behind Edge Game Servers, well you really did come to the right place! I’ve got to say, my time interviewing Dan was amazing, and the guys amazing; in fact we share the same views, have the same goals, and plan on always being there for the gamer.

It wasn’t just me that had amazing things to say about their flawless site, services, or even remarkable prices. I did some digging of my own and found an amazing straight forward testimonial that just shows how much they really care about their customers. Here’s what a customer had to say:

I must say, Edge Game Servers is a pretty cool company. Like seriously, I got a Counter-Strike: 1.6 server from them setup and the owner Dan was there with me all the way helping me add the mods which I couldn’t do. There support is top notch, and nobody can complain about the Pricing cause they give pretty good deals.

Well there you have it, you’ve heard it from me, you’ve heard it from a customer, now its time to hear what they had to say. Read on for an exclusive interview and find out what they plan on doing with the future of Edge Game Servers:

Alright, well let’s get started shall we, if I may ask why it is you took on the role of starting your own game server provider?
Well I have been gaming for a very long time and just never really found a game server provider that was cheap and had high performance servers. This is why I decided that I would start my own company with High Performance servers for an affordable price for all gamers.

So, a gamer with a goal? I like that. Why is it you chose the main price of $0.75/slot; I must say that’s a killer deal you offerand voice servers as cheap as $0.28/slot.
Thank you. Once again this has to deal with being affordable for the gamers. I am not in the business to make a whole lot of money just enough to pay the bills and still come out with a little profit so I can upgrade servers and get new locations.

I’m starting to like you already, being here for the community. Being a gamer, I’m sure you had extremely well knowledge around game servers, but may I ask why you chose the locations you chose? Dallas & LA?
We started out in Dallas first because that is more of a central location. Clients can order a server in Dallas and still be east or west coast and get fairly decent pings. The next location was LA because a lot of communities that I know are located on the west coast so I thought I would help them out and get a close location for all of them. For our next location it will be on the east coast so that way we can cover gamers from wherever they should be at and have great pings and performance.

Now that’s planed out my friend.  Are your boxes collocated or rented?
Rented, the reason for that is because most companies cannot afford all the hardware when getting started. Also one of the key things was I didn’t want to deal with having to ship out parts to be replaced and have clients be down even longer when the datacenter can just replace it right on the spot

So as a gamer and previous renter, I’m sure you have been through many GSP’s in your time; and with that have been said, I’m sure your main goal with Edge Game Servers was to make an easily accessible site for your clients, but what made you choose to have two separate panels? Whmcs for billing and GameCP for the servers? Also why GameCP out of all the panels out there?
Well the reason why I chose to have two different panels was for the customer. WHMCS has many different options you can use to make the order process easier than the built in GameCP version. For example you can get add-ons to allow clients to use group pay/clan pay. This is what a lot of organizations our there like to use since their members like to help pay for the services. I chose GameCP over the well-known TcAdmin because there is a lot more features built into it that allows for a very easy client experience. Also GameCP has very easy to customize files that allow me to code my own features into it like MySQL database with a click of a button or auto Bzip maps.

But all in all that’s extremely great. So you create your own add-ons for GameCP? What are some features that you have integrated to make an easier experience for your clients?
We have the MySQL database creation and the Auto Bzip of maps like mentioned before. We also have one click installs for Metamod: Source and Sourcemod. With the Metamod and Sourcemod our add-on will auto search their website and get the newest version so the client can just hit update and it will install the new update if it isn’t a first time install. We also are working on an Edge exclusive add-on that will say in game for admins only when there is a server update for their server and allow them to do it or wait for it. Then if there is no one in the server at the time it will automatically update the server. Then we have the typical one click installs for Garry’s Mod game content.

Well that seems extremely convenient. Seems like your customers are definitely getting the bang for their buck. So this was one thing that came across my mind the first time I had heard about your company. Do you have any relation to EdgeGamers.org? (I also ask as I see you’re a “Supporter”)
There is no relation to them at all. I actually registered my business and got everything setup before I really noticed them to tell you the truth. The reason why I became a supported was because I liked their name :) actually they have a great organization with great members and I was glad to become a supporter for them.

They are an extremely great organization, with an amazing community; which I have personally been gaming with since 2008. Alright well let’s wrap things up shall we? I like to leave the best and most important question for last ;). What are your future goals/ plans for Edge Game Servers?
Currently our plans are to expand our locations so that we can cover the United States and parts of Canada and Europe to provide the ultimate experience not only for US Gamers but for the majority of Gamers. We are also still in talks with EA to try and become an EA trusted partner so we can host ranked games like BF3 for example. Another thing that we are getting ready for is the release of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. With this being the next Counter-Strike game being released we expect a high demand and want to be ready to provide great performance and prices for the gamers.

Well that sounds promising, but as a previous gsp owner, and employee, I must say it takes time and dedication.
I agree with you on that and that is why we are slowly trying to build up to meet our entire goals one at a time.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading; looking forward to read what you had to say about this!
